Originally from Peru, I bring a diverse professional background shaped by years of experience in various roles. After immigrating to the United States, I made the important decision to resume my university education, which had been interrupted during my transition to a new country. While working as a paraprofessional in a Dual Language Program, I earned a Bachelor of Arts ’s degree in Spanish, which laid the foundation for my career in education.

Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of working in schools with highly diverse student populations. My experience includes supporting English Language Learners and Spanish Language Learners across multiple subjects at the elementary level, where I have developed a deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices. Currently, I serve as a second-grade Dual Language teacher in the county where I reside, instructing in Spanish and mathematics.

I am a passionate advocate for biliteracy, firmly believing in its power to enhance cognitive development, academic achievement, and social and cultural awareness. My commitment to bilingual education is rooted in the belief that language is not only a tool for communication but also a bridge to deeper understanding and inclusion in an increasingly global society.
