Dr. Kathryn I. Henderson (Katy) is a leading scholar in dual language bilingual education (DLBE) and bilingual/ESL teacher preparation. She is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas at San Antonio with more than 20 years of experience teaching, researching, and preparing educators for DLBE. Before entering higher education, she taught elementary school in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her work focuses on language ideologies, language policy, and DLBE programs, and she has received national recognition for her contributions to bilingual education research.
