2026 Translanguaging Institute

The 2026 Translanguaging Classroom Institute invites educators to explore how all students including bi/multilingual learners thrive when instruction honors their full linguistic repertoires. This year’s theme—Weaving Translanguaging across Literacies, Learning, and Living—highlights how translanguaging practices connect and strengthen different aspects of the educational experience.

Are you interested in exploring innovative translanguaging pedagogy that fosters language inclusivity, social justice, and equity in research and teaching endeavors? Look no further, join us during the summer 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Audience: K-12 teachers (bilingual/dual language/ESL), administrators and professors

Dates: June 11-12, 2026

Where: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Cost: $450 per person - Early Registration (Deadline April 25)

$500 - Late Registration
$50 discount for groups of 3 or more

2026 Translanguaging Institute

Participants will engage in hands-on workshops and presentations that feature translanguaging as an integral part of:

Literacies: developing visual, textual, oral, and embodied modes of meaning-making

Learning: understanding the role of deepening language and literacy across grades and content areas to create dynamic learning spaces

Living: affirming students' lived experiences, identities, funds of knowledge, ways of knowing and communicating across contexts
